Summary: Tsukushi Makino, a working-class girl, attends an elite elevator school called Eitoku Academy, populated by children from rich, high-society families. She is the “weed” of the school, surrounded by all the rich kids, including the “Flower” Four (F4). Who hand out ‘red tags throughout the school to those they dislike. The red tags symbolize to the student body to run that person out of the school, to simply put it. Make that person’s life a living hell. When Tsukushi stands up for her friend against the F4, she finds herself with a red tag. She is teased, harassed and even abused but she will never stop fighting back. The F4 leader and son of the wealthiest, most powerful family in Japan, Tsukasa Domyoji, takes an interest in Tsukushi, because she is the only girl at Eitoku with that fighting spirit and does not fawn over him but detests him to the very core. However, his hot-headed nature and bullying ways are originally a major turn-off for Tsukushi, who has her sights set on someone else. The violinist Rui Hanazawa, Tsukasa’s best friend, becomes Tsukushi’s first serious romantic interest. Over the course of the series, however, Tsukushi’s feelings evolve, and she begins to appreciate the degree of change that occurred in Tsukasa once he fell in love with her. He becomes fiercely loyal to Tsukushi and believes in her beyond all doubt, and slowly gets her to see him in a different light. The physical obstacles and emotional challenges of their rocky high-school courtship form the basis of the story. (SUMMARY BY TSUUKUSHI)

Raisume: I’ve never read/watched it
Tsuukushi: The combination of sorrow, anger, humour, despair and love always kept you wanting more. The plot of the manga never ceases to amaze those reading. Though sometimes Kamio Youko’s portrayance of the plot was quite slow making me and maybe other reader’s endure only boredom. I found the comedy in the manga was very well done, but sometimes just thrown in at random taking interest away from the manga’s true potential. Ofcourse occurances like these happened rarely. The artwork in the manga was excellent, Youko’s touch of realism in the art really caught my attention and pushed me further to flip a page just to view more of the detail in each piece. The character designs were very well matched with the personalities of the character’s. The manga is definitely one of my favourites.
